How to Choose a Chiropractor
Picking a chiropractor shouldn't be a guess. Here's how to use reviews, credentials, and a first visit to find the right fit.
- 1
Start with two or three clinics
Browse the directory by your city or the type of care you need. Pick a few highly-rated options. Top-of-list chiropractors usually have the longest track record with patients across the Texas Panhandle.
- 2
Check reviews and credentials
Read recent patient reviews, not just the star rating. Look for mentions of the condition you're dealing with. Every chiropractor practicing in Texas must be licensed by the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and you can verify a license on the board's website in under a minute.
- 3
Book an initial consultation
Call the clinic or book online. Many the Texas Panhandle chiropractors offer new-patient specials that bundle the initial exam and first adjustment. The first visit is where they assess your situation, explain what they find, and lay out a treatment plan. A good chiropractor tells you what's going on before asking you to commit to anything.
- 4
Pick on fit, not just price
The cheapest visit isn't the point. Compare how clearly they explained your treatment plan, whether they take your insurance, how easy it is to get an appointment, and whether their technique suits you. If a plan feels vague or open-ended, ask how progress gets measured and when you'll reassess.
What to ask at your first visit
- How much experience do you have treating my specific condition?
- What techniques do you use, and why do you recommend them for me?
- How many visits should I expect before we reassess progress?
- Do you take my insurance? What do visits cost without it?
- Will you refer me out for imaging or to another provider if my case needs it?
